Hyderabad, Oct 18: A 60-year-old tuition teacher has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old minor girl in December 2017.

The special court's Judge P. Anjaneyulu sentenced the accused, Dronamraju Subramanyeshwar Raoto, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000. A compensation of Rs 3 lakh was awarded to the victim.
As per the case details, the victim, a resident of Hyderguda in Rajendranagar Mandal, had been attending tuition classes at the residence of Dronamraju Subramanyeshwar Rao, who lived in the same apartment complex as her.
On December 3, 2017, the victim narrated the ordeal to her mother that Rao had sent other students away after class and then sexually assaulted her in his room.

Soon after the matter came to fore, the victim's mother filed a complaint at the Rajendranagar Police Station.
Based on the plaint, a case was registered under Section 376(2)(f)(i) of the IPC, Section 5(o) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012, and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
Later, as per crucial evidence, the charge sheet was filed.
After thorough examination of all the evidences, the special court pronounced the verdict.
