Chamoli, Dec 31: In a tragic incident late Tuesday evening, about 60 people were injured when a loco train carrying workers and officials collided with a stationary goods train inside the Pipalkoti tunnel of the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project in Chamoli district.
The collision occurred during routine operations inside the tunnel, leading to chaos and panic among those onboard.
Rescue teams rushed to the site and began evacuating the
injured, many of whom sustained fractures and head injuries. Ambulances and
medical teams were deployed to nearby hospitals for immediate treatment.
