Narayanpur, Nov 26: In a significant breakthrough for anti-Naxal operations, 28 Maoists surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district.

The surrender took place before Bastar Inspector General of Police, Sundarraj P., marking another major step in the state’s efforts to curb insurgency.

Among those who surrendered were 19 women Maoists, all of whom were members of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee.

Authorities revealed that the surrendered Maoists carried a combined reward of Rs 89 lakh on their heads.

Officials described the surrender as a major success in ongoing efforts to weaken Maoist influence in the Bastar region.

The move is expected to encourage more cadres to abandon the path of violence and reintegrate into mainstream society.
