Unraveling The Indian Marriages: Major Issues Of Why Are Couple Parting Away

Key Points

In a country where marriage has long been regarded as sacred, people nowadays are finding reasons to stay apart from their partners.. But why?

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: Marriage is one of the most discussed and hot topic of every household. But do anyone think what are the consequences couple face after the marriage. Do anyone talk about the challenges they face in day-to-day life. Oh.. its a 'fact', yet a very 'realistic' question.

In a country where marriage has long been regarded as sacred, people nowadays are finding reasons to stay apart from their partners.. But why?

A noticeable transformation has been seen in the people.

Shifting traditions, modern challenges, and the quest for personal happiness are reshaping the landscape of Indian marriages.

Earlier, there was a quest to being with each other, be it in compatibility, respect or family issue. But nowadays, people are no longer content with just being married. They want meaningful marriages. They want respect, emotional safety, and true companionship.

Couples are now prioritizing compatibility, mental health, and individual aspirations over societal expectations.

Now if we see the perspective of young generations in marriages in India. Marriage is not failing, What’s failing is the idea of two people. They want love that is alive, not a relic of obligation.

Many individuals, especially women, are more aware of their rights and unwilling to tolerate abuse, neglect, or inequality in relationships. This shift is definitely the best, empowering individuals to make difficult but necessary decisions about ending unhealthy marriages.

Women are now taking bold decisions not because they "give up too easily," but because they no longer see themselves as victim.

Similarly, men are now considering their roles—not just as providers, but as equal partners who deserve emotional fulfillment, too.

In some cases, there are communication breakdowns between couples which is a major issue of an unhealthy marriage.

Emotional intimacy and effective communication are the cornerstones of a successful marriage. Unfortunately, unresolved conflicts and a lack of emotional connection often leave couples feeling isolated within their relationships.

So many of us don't know the result or the consequences of marriage and the future of it.

But surely, the future of Indian marriages will not be in their endurance but in their evolution.

People will marry later, or sometimes not at all—because they will no longer see marriage as life’s ultimate goal, but as one of many paths to fulfillment.

And above all, marriage 'has become' or we can say 'it will become' a choice.
