Ontario, Mar 5: A 45-year-old woman of Punjabi origin was tragically stabbed to death in Ontario, said the authorities on Thursday.
Local police reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday night (March 3), in the 2400 block of Todd Lane. Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving distress calls, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigators have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

"The LaSalle Police Service continues to investigate a homicide that occurred on Todd Lane just before 9:30 p.m. on March 3, 2026. The victim is Nancy Grewal, 45, of Windsor. The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal," LaSalle Police Service wrote on Facebook.
"To ease public concern, we are sharing that investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident," it added.
The victim, Grewal, was active on social media and often voiced opinions on Punjab-related developments. She had previously criticized jailed MP Amritpal Singh, Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and Gurinder Singh Dhillon of Dera Beas. Grewal also condemned Khalistani groups and spoke about India–Canada tensions.
In June last year, she raised her voice following the death of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari (Kamal Kaur Bhabhi) in Bathinda.
