According to reports, the attack occurred on a train travelling from Doncaster to London’s King’s Cross Station. The emergency was reported around 7:40 p.m. as the train approached Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire.
Armed police, supported by multiple emergency response units including ambulances and air support, swiftly intervened and halted the train at the station.
British Transport Police confirmed that “multiple people have been stabbed” and that “two people have been arrested” in connection with the incident.
Witnesses described scenes of chaos and fear, with passengers reportedly hiding in washrooms to escape the attackers. “Blood was everywhere,” one passenger told local media.
However, the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Authorities have declared the incident a major emergency, and Counter Terrorism Policing is assisting with the investigation as a precautionary measure.
