In a series of posts on social media platform X, Majhi said the evolving trade and technology partnership between India and the United States could place Odisha in a significant position within the global semiconductor supply chain. He said the growing global demand for rare-earth minerals available in Odisha could help the state emerge as a hub for advanced technology and technical expertise. According to the Chief Minister, the agreement would link Odisha’s mineral resources with global technology market Majhi also said that the new trade understanding between India and the United States would provide fresh momentum to Odisha’s marine economy. He said the reduction in tariffs could lead to increased demand for Odisha’s prawns, fish and other seafood products in the US market. The Chief Minister further stated that the agreement would expand global access for Odisha’s handloom products and ready-made garments. He said tariff concessions would make exports easier, creating new livelihood opportunities for weavers and handloom artisans. ✨In a post on X on Tuesday, Pradhan termed the agreement historic and said it would strengthen bilateral trade, investment and supply chains. He said the agreement would support growth across technology and knowledge-driven sectors.

Meanwhile, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that India and the United States are likely to finalise and sign a joint statement on the bilateral trade deal within the next four to five days. He said the legal text of the first tranche of the India–US trade agreement is expected to be released by mid-March.
