New Delhi, Feb 5: Hockey India on Thursday announced a 24-member Indian men’s hockey team for the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26 Rourkela leg, scheduled from February 10 to 15 at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Odisha's Rourkela.
The Rourkela leg will feature hosts India, along with Argentina and Belgium.
The squad includes a mix of experienced players and young talent across departments as India begins their Pro League campaign on home soil.
Suraj Karkera and Pawan have been named as goalkeepers.
The defensive unit comprises Amit Rohidas, captain Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sumit, Sanjay, Nilam Sanjeep Xess and Amandeep Lakra.
Lakra earned selection following his performance in the recently concluded Men’s Hero Hockey India League 2025–26, where he was named Hero Player of the Tournament.
The midfield includes Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Hardik Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Nilakanta Sharma and Rosan Kujur.
21-year-old Kujur from Odisha has received his maiden call-up to the senior national side.
Kujur was part of the Indian junior team that won the bronze medal at the FIH Junior World Cup 2025 in Chennai and featured for Vedanta Kalinga Lancers during the Hero Hockey India League 2025–26.
Manmeet Singh from Punjab has also been included following his performances in the domestic circuit. He, too, was part of the junior team that claimed bronze at the Junior World Cup in Chennai.
The forward line features Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Selvam Karthi, Mandeep Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal and Aditya Arjun Lalage.
Chief coach Craig Fulton said the squad reflects a balance of youth and experience.
“It’s an exciting mix of youth and experience. We have young talents coming through, while the presence of senior players adds valuable experience,” Fulton said.
