Washington, Apr 27: US President Donald Trump lashed out at a reporter during an interview after she quoted from the alleged manifesto of a suspected gunman involved in the recent security breach at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, reportedly attempted to breach a security checkpoint at the venue while armed. He allegedly fired multiple rounds before being subdued near the hotel complex where the event was taking place.
During an interaction with Norah O'Donnell of CBS News, Trump objected strongly when excerpts from the purported manifesto were read out.
“I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody,” Trump said, reacting to the quoted remarks. He also rejected any implied association with the claims mentioned in the document, calling the suspect a “sick person” and criticising the decision to read the contents on air.

The US President further described the attacker as “radicalised” and “anti-Christian,” while alleging that political rhetoric had contributed to rising violence.
Trump also said he was not worried during the incident, stating, “We live in a crazy world,” and added that he had initially wanted to assess the situation before being moved to safety.
The gunman who breached security at the White House Correspondents' Dinner had declared members of the Trump administration as "targets" in a manifesto sent minutes before the attack, raising fresh concerns about political violence in the United States.
The suspect, identified as a 31-year-old teacher from Torrance, California, emailed the document to family members shortly before storming the venue where more than 2,500 guests — including US President Donald Trump, the first lady, the vice president and cabinet officials — had gathered.
