Mumbai, Jun 11: Once celebrated as two of the most talked-about glamour icons in the Hindi film industry, Sunny Leone and Celina Jaitly are again making headlines -- this time not for films, but for legal battles.

Sunny Leone has recently been served a notice by the Karnataka CID in connection with its probe into an alleged Rs 2,400-crore investment fraud case linked to Shivam Associates. Investigators have clarified that Leone is not an accused in the matter. The agency reportedly wants information regarding a film project that allegedly received funding from the prime accused.

Celina Jaitly, meanwhile, finds herself embroiled in a bitter and highly public legal dispute with her estranged husband Peter Haag and father-in-law Wolfgang Haag.

The actress has publicly alleged abuse and intimidation, while Haag and his father have responded with legal notices over what they describe as defamatory statements. The dispute is unfolding alongside divorce and child custody proceedings.

But long before lawyers entered the picture, the two actresses were linked by one of Bollywood's more unusual celebrity spats.

The Penthouse Row That Turned Ugly
The feud dates back to 2015 when Celina accused Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber of leaving her Mumbai penthouse in poor condition after staying there as tenants. Celina alleged that the couple delayed vacating the property and that the apartment required extensive repairs after they moved out. She also publicly criticised their conduct during the tenancy.

Sunny, however, firmly rejected the allegations. She maintained that she and Weber had vacated the property after the lease ended and dismissed reports suggesting they had been forced out or had mistreated the apartment.

What started as a landlord-tenant disagreement quickly snowballed into a full-blown tabloid war, complete with sharp statements, counter-statements and enough gossip-column fuel to last months.

Celina Jaitly first gained national attention after finishing as a runner-up at the 2001 Miss India pageant before moving into films. She appeared in movies such as 'No Entry', 'Golmaal Returns' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money' before stepping away from mainstream cinema after marriage.

Sunny Leone followed a very different path to stardom. After entering the Indian entertainment scene through 'Bigg Boss', she successfully transitioned into films with projects such as 'Jism 2', 'Ragini MMS 2' and 'Ek Paheli Leela', eventually becoming one of the most recognisable faces in popular entertainment.
