Mumbai, Jul 4: Just days after revealing that her marriage with television actor Gaurav Khanna is headed for divorce, 'Lock Upp Season 2' contestant Akanksha Chamola has made another personal revelation on the reality show -- she said she is bisexual and had relationships with women before getting married.

The disclosure came after Akanksha learned that fellow contestant Shreya Kalra had allegedly overheard her discussing her sexuality backstage and later shared it with contestant Sufi Motiwala. Asked to address the matter on the show, Akanksha chose to speak about it openly.

"I was bisexual before marriage. I have been in relationships with a few women, though they were not very intimate," Akanksha said, adding that she has always admired and felt attracted to women.

Explaining her feelings further, she said women have always been her "safe space". Growing up in what she described as a male-dominated world, she found comfort in the company of her mother, sisters and other women, which shaped her emotional connection with them.

Akanksha also challenged the common perception that women cannot be close friends because of jealousy or competition. "For me, all females are beautiful. It's a tag that society has given. For me, it's pure love," she said.

The revelation comes shortly after Akanksha disclosed on the same show that she and Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for nearly a year and are heading for a divorce.

It can be mentioned here that Akanksha Chamola is an Indian television actress and model who began her acting career in 2015 with the popular daily soap 'Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur', where she played the role of Parineeta.

She has since featured in several TV shows, including 'Bhootu' (as Anandita), 'Bhagyalaxmi', and 'Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye', along with web series, while building a strong presence as a content creator and influencer.
