Mumbai, Aug 19: Veteran actor Achyut Potdar, widely admired for his role as the stern professor in the iconic film 3 Idiots, passed away late Monday night at the age of 91. He breathed his last at Jupiter Hospital in Thane, where he had been admitted due to age-related health complications. While the exact cause of death remains undisclosed, reports suggest natural decline due to aging. His funeral is scheduled for August 19 in Thane.

Potdar’s passing marks the end of an era in Indian cinema and television. Known for his dignified presence and nuanced performances, he appeared in over 125 films and nearly 100 television serials across Hindi and Marathi entertainment. His filmography includes acclaimed titles such as Aakrosh, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyoon Aata Hai, Ardh Satya, Tezaab, Parinda, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Dilwale, Yeh Dillagi, Rangeela, Mritydand, Vaastav, Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Dabangg 2, and Ventilator.
