Mumbai Crime Branch reveals accused scouted Bollywood stars’ homes before targeting Tiger Shroff; armed men opened fire at his car, later discarding pistols, as police probe the wider conspiracy.

Mumbai, Oct 21: The accused in the recent firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff had arrived in Mumbai about a month earlier and allegedly carried out reconnaissance of several prominent film stars’ residences, according to Mumbai Crime Branch sources.

Investigators revealed that the accused hired auto‑rickshaw drivers to guide them around the city, asking to be taken to the homes of celebrities under the pretext of photographing the properties.

As a result, they were shown the residences of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan. Police sources said the attackers were instructed to focus on celebrities with relatively limited security arrangements.

During their recce, one auto‑rickshaw driver reportedly informed them that Tiger Shroff played football at a Juhu ground every Sunday. Acting on this tip, the accused visited the ground on October 11, but Shroff did not appear.

They returned on October 18, this time armed, and allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s car.

Police further disclosed that other individuals from Haryana had also travelled to Mumbai around the same period, conducting reconnaissance before returning home. Following the attack, the accused allegedly discarded both weapons at an undisclosed location while fleeing the city.

Investigators believe two pistols were used — one foreign‑made and the other domestically manufactured — though details about the foreign weapon remain unclear. Efforts are underway to trace and recover the discarded firearms.

The Mumbai Crime Branch continues to probe the case, aiming to establish the precise roles of the accused and uncover the full extent of the alleged conspiracy behind the attack.
