Mumbai, June 25: The romantic drama 'Cocktail 2' has hit a major milestone at the global box office, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in just six days of its theatrical release. Directed by Homi Adajania the film stars Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The film has grabbed the attention of viewers across domestic and international markets.

Trade estimates suggest that the film has collected Rs 102.76 crore in its worldwide gross collection. The stupendous performance is a testament to the audience’s strong interest in the sequel and the continued popularity of relationship-based dramas in Indian cinema.

On its sixth day in theatres, 'Cocktail 2' earned Rs 5 crore net from nearly 10,000 shows across the country. This raised its total net collection in India to Rs 66 crore, while the domestic gross earnings reached Rs 78.76 crore.

The film had a strong opening with a first-day collection of Rs 13.5 crore net. Positive momentum over the weekend helped it earn Rs 16.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 17.75 crore on Sunday. Even after the weekend, the movie continued to perform well, collecting Rs 6.75 crore each on Monday and Tuesday, which shows that audience interest remained strong.

The movie has performed well even internationally. As per reports from the sixth day, it has grossed around Rs 1.25 crore internationally, thus bringing its international gross collections up to Rs 24 crore. Adding the local box office collection, the gross collection of the movie has now reached the Rs 100 crore mark.

'Cocktail 2', which has performed well in the first week, has another challenge awaiting it in the form of the upcoming Akshaya Kumar's entertainer 'Welcome to the Jungle'.

The film released on June 19, after long 14 years since the first 'Cocktail' released. The original 'Cocktail' starred Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty in it. With a completely different 'Triangular love story' the new 'Cocktail 2' continues to draw viewers. The movie focuses on today's relationships.

Crossing Rs 100 crore worldwide within less than a week is a notable achievement for 'Cocktail 2'.
