Mumbai, Aug 25: The wait is over! Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan, has officially premiered with a bold new theme and a revamped viewing schedule. The show now streams daily at 9 PM on JioHotstar and airs on Colors TV at 10:30 PM, marking a strategic shift toward digital-first broadcasting.
This season, titled ‘Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar’, introduces a political twist to the format, transforming the Bigg Boss house into a symbolic seat of governance. The theme is expected to fuel intense debates, shifting alliances, and power struggles among contestants over a six-month run — longer than previous seasons.
Salman Khan introduced 16 contestants, including a mix of actors, influencers, and entrepreneurs: Farhana Bhat, Amaal Malik, Zeeshan Quadri, Pranit More, Gaurav Khanna, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Abhishek Bajaj, Mridul Tiwari, Neelam Giri, Kunickaa Sadanand, Ashnoor Kaur, Nehal Chudasama, Tanya Mittal, and Baseer Ali.
The house itself is a visual spectacle. Designed by Omung Kumar and Vanita Garud, it draws inspiration from wilderness camping, evoking the rustic charm of a forest cabin. A standout feature is the Assembly Room, described by Omung Kumar as the “symbolic seat of power.” This room is central to the season’s theme and will host critical discussions, leadership challenges, and confrontations. As seen in the Bigg Boss 19 House Reveal | Bigg Boss 19, it’s designed to push contestants to speak up, defend their views, and assert control.
The Bigg Boss 19 House Tour reveals other unique design elements: a W-shaped wooden pillar at the entrance, deer and lion motifs symbolizing conflict and dominance, and a wigwam-style seating area for communal reflection. Strategically placed carved eyes reinforce the idea of constant surveillance.
The living room doubles as the venue for ‘Weekend Ka War’, where Salman Khan addresses contestants and delivers his signature mix of wit and wisdom. The house is both a retreat and a battlefield — a perfect metaphor for the unpredictable dynamics of Bigg Boss.
