Hollywood / Salma Hayek’s Husband Asked One Question After Her ‘Affair’ Confession

Mumbai, Sep 20: Hollywood actress Salma Hayek once made her businessman husband François-Henri Pinault believe she was having an affair -- all because she wanted to keep an abandoned puppy she had found while filming in Bulgaria.

At the time, Hayek was already caring for around 30 animals at home, including dogs, parrots, alpacas, horses and cats. She had also promised her husband that she would not bring another animal home.

But after coming across an abandoned puppy in Bulgaria, the ‘Frida’ actress could not bring herself to leave it behind. She then devised an unusual plan to convince her husband to let her keep it.

Hayek Had A Plan To Keep The Puppy
During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Hayek recalled how she decided to make her husband believe she was having an affair before revealing the real reason behind her dramatic call.

“My husband has threatened me ‘no more, no more dogs’, so I had promised, I said, ‘I'm gonna make him believe that I'm having an affair’ and at the end I explained it's not an affair,” she said.

Hayek began by calling her husband and telling him, “We need to talk” — something she said she never normally does.

The unusual opening immediately left Pinault worried.

Husband Feared The Worst
When Pinault called her back, Hayek continued with the elaborate story, telling him that she was struggling to share some difficult news.

“Listen, this breaks my heart to tell you this news because I know I'm gonna disappoint you, and it's been really hard for me to come on with the courage to say this to you, but I cannot take it any longer,” she told him.

She then described herself as tired, overwhelmed and lonely while filming.

After hearing the dramatic explanation, Pinault apparently reached a very different conclusion.

“Oh, please don't tell me you picked up another dog,” he replied.

Hayek And Pinault’s Family Life
Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault began dating in 2006 and married on February 14, 2009, in Paris. They later held a wedding celebration in Venice.

The couple have one daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, who was born in 2007.
