Mumbai, Feb 10: Actor Ranveer Singh is facing a major dispute with Farhan Akhtar’s production company, Excel Entertainment, after walking out of the much-anticipated film Don 3. The production house is reportedly seeking Rs40 crore in compensation, claiming heavy financial losses due to Singh’s sudden exit.
Ranveer Singh was announced as the new lead of Don 3 in 2023, stepping into a role earlier made iconic by Shah Rukh Khan. The film had reached advanced stages of pre-production, with scripting, planning, and scheduling completed before shooting was set to begin. However, Singh is said to have withdrawn from the project in December 2025, citing dissatisfaction with the final script and creative differences.
Excel Entertainment has alleged that Singh’s departure caused significant delays and wasted investments in the film’s preparation. The production company insists that the actor should bear responsibility for the losses incurred. Singh, however, is opposing the demand, arguing that creative disagreements should not make him liable for financial damages.
