Bhubaneswar, May 17: In a historic moment for Odisha’s film industry, the motion poster of the Odia feature film ‘Baghuni’ (Dance Like a Tiger) was unveiled at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in France.
With this, Baghuni became the first-ever Odia film to be showcased at Cannes, making it a significant milestone for regional cinema.
Directed by Jitendra Mishra, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, and produced by Partha Panda, the film aims to bring Odisha’s rich art, culture, and heritage to the global stage.
The creators describe ‘Baghuni’ as an inspiring tale of resilience and unforgettable courage, highlighting the essence of Odisha’s storytelling tradition.
The film features actor Sabyasachi Mishra in the lead role and is set to be shot across Odisha, London, Britain, and other destinations in September and October this year. With its international recognition, ‘Baghuni’ is expected to elevate Odia cinema to new heights.
