Argus News - Nana Patekar Leaves 'O Romeo' Event After Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Arrive Late; Video Shows Watch Gesture

Mumbai, Jan 22: Senior actor Nana Patekar left the trailer launch event of 'O Romeo' on Wednesday after lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri failed to arrive on time, a source said.

Patekar, who is part of the film, reached the venue as scheduled, but exited the event after waiting for nearly an hour.

According to an NDTV report, the trailer launch was scheduled to begin at 12 noon. Known for his punctuality, Patekar arrived on time, while Kapoor and Dimri were delayed. When the event did not begin even after an hour, Patekar left the venue visibly upset.

A video circulating online shows members of the film’s team attempting to stop Patekar as he exits. The actor is seen repeatedly pointing at his watch, emphasising the delay.

Reacting to the incident, director Vishal Bhardwaj addressed Patekar’s absence at the event. He said that although Patekar had left, it was important to speak about him.

Bhardwaj described Patekar as someone with a playful and entertaining personality and said they share a 27-year friendship, marking their first collaboration together. He added that Patekar left in his characteristic style after being made to wait, and that the team understood his reaction.

'O Romeo' is scheduled for release on February 13. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Farida Jalal and Randeep Hooda in key roles.
