Mumbai, Sept 4: In a surprising turn of events, comedian Kiku Sharda has reportedly stepped away from 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', following a viral on-set spat with co-star Krushna Abhishek. The news was first shared by paparazzo Viral Bhayani on Instagram, sparking widespread speculation among fans of the long-running comedy franchise.
Kiku, who has been a core member of Kapil Sharma’s team for years, is known for his iconic characters like Bumper Lottery and Palak. His departure, though not officially confirmed, coincides with his reported signing for a new reality show titled Rise and Fall, hosted by Ashneer Grover and set to stream on Amazon MX Player from September 6.
The controversy began when a behind-the-scenes video surfaced online showing a heated exchange between Kiku and Krushna. In the clip, Kiku is heard saying, “Timepass kar raha hu?” to which Krushna responds sharply, “To phir thik hai aap karlo… Main jata hu yaha se.” The argument escalated before Krushna attempted to de-escalate by saying, “I love you and respect you, I don’t want to raise my voice,” but Kiku replied, “Raise voice ka baat nahi hai, aap isko galat tarike se leke jaa rahe hai”.

✨While some insiders suggest the spat may have been a misunderstanding or even a publicity stunt, others believe it contributed to Kiku’s decision to take a break from the Netflix show. Adding to the buzz, Kiku recently shared a promotional poster for Rise and Fall on Instagram, hinting at his new journey.
Kiku has previously spoken about his versatility as an actor, especially his comfort with cross-dressing roles. “I can go to any extent for my craft,” he said in an earlier interview.
Whether this marks a permanent exit or a temporary pause remains unclear, but fans are already expressing their disappointment and support online.
