Mumbai, Aug 15: Bollywood veteran Govinda has publicly criticized his wife Sunita Ahuja for what he described as her excessive use of abusive language, particularly involving references to mothers and sisters.

In a video message, the actor directly addressed Sunita, urging her to stop. “And yes, I would like to say again, that Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of abusive language especially on mother and sister,” Govinda said.

He warned that if such behavior inspires others, she would soon be “shown the mirror.” Stressing the influence of public figures, Govinda added, “Youngsters expect you to behave in a way that they will follow it. So, if people start abusing your mother and sister, then we will all be very embarrassed. Don't do this.”

The actor further condemned the repeated use of such words, saying it had cheapened them. “By repeatedly using abusive language, you have made the words ‘mother’ and ‘sister’ cheap, referring to them as ‘sasta’. This is not expected from you,” he remarked.

Govinda’s comments come amid heightened scrutiny of his personal life, fueled by Sunita’s candid remarks about their marriage. In recent months, she has spoken openly about Govinda’s alleged affairs, admitting she endured difficult phases because of her love for him.

The controversy intensified after Govinda was spotted at an airport with newcomer actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, rumored to be linked to him and their upcoming film Roopa. Sunita lashed out, calling Govinda a “sugar daddy” and mocking Komal’s appearance. “Beti ki umar ki ladki lekar ghoom raha hai, shame on him,” she said, accusing him of roaming with a girl of his daughter’s age.

When asked about Govinda promoting Roopa with Komal, Sunita reportedly quipped, “First of all, the movie should be made. Promotion happens after the movie is complete.”

Sunita, who last appeared in the reality show Lock Upp, was also seen casually using abusive words in conversations with housemates, especially when topics involving Govinda surfaced.

The ongoing spat has kept the couple in the spotlight, with Govinda’s stern rebuke adding fresh fuel to their already turbulent relationship.
