Mumbai, March 1: Laxman Utekar, the director of the movie Chhaava, has reached a major milestone by joining the ₹500 crore club, making him one of Bollywood's top filmmakers. However, his success wasn't easy. He started from humble beginnings, selling vada pav and even working as a sweeper in a film studio before making it big. His journey is truly inspiring.

Utekar, who grew up in Maharashtra, didn’t have any connections in the film industry when he started. He moved to Mumbai with a love for cinema and faced many struggles. To survive, he sold vada pav and worked odd jobs in film studios, like cleaning floors, to learn about filmmaking. Over time, he became a cinematographer and worked on many films before directing his own.

He became well-known with the movies Luka Chuppi (2019) and Mimi (2021), both of which did well at the box office. But it was his film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, that made him a huge success. The film has earned over ₹400 crore and is on its way to ₹500 crore, making Utekar one of the most successful directors in Bollywood.

Utekar often talks about the tough times he faced and how they helped him grow as a filmmaker. His hard work and determination have made him a top director in the industry, showing that with persistence, dreams can come true.

The review of the Vicky Kaushal film gives it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It says that the director, Laxman Utekar, creates a grand, big-budget historical film, but the first half is not very engaging. It focuses more on action and songs rather than developing the characters or the story. While AR Rahman’s music and background score are strong, they sometimes overshadow the plot. The song "Aaya re toofan" is a highlight, but the rest of the music doesn't quite fit the movie's theme.
