Key Points

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 earned ₹21 crore on its first Monday, recording a 65.6% drop from Sunday’s ₹61 crore haul.
The thriller has now reached ₹197.50 crore net in India and crossed the ₹300 crore mark worldwide.
Despite the weekday dip, strong audience response to the film’s writing and ending continues to fuel its box-office run.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 witnessed a significant drop in earnings on its first Monday after recording a strong opening weekend. The film collected approximately ₹21 crore net in India on Day 4, registering a 65.6 per cent decline from its ₹61 crore Sunday collection.

Despite the Monday drop, the Abhishek Pathak directorial has maintained a strong run at the box office and has already crossed the ₹300 crore mark worldwide.

According to the latest figures, Drishyam 3 earned ₹21 crore net in India on Monday, taking its total India net collection to around ₹197.50 crore. The film’s domestic gross collection has reached approximately ₹237 crore. The thriller also performed well in overseas markets, where it collected around ₹5 crore on Monday. Its worldwide gross collection currently stands at approximately ₹303 crore. The Monday figures represent a sharp decline from Sunday, when the film earned ₹61 crore in India. However, the drop is in line with the expected weekday trend following a high-performing opening weekend.

Drishyam 3 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 24.71 per cent on its first Monday. The film registered its strongest occupancy during the night shows, which recorded 38.38 per cent. This was followed by evening shows at 26.85 per cent, afternoon shows at 20.69 per cent and morning shows at 12.92 per cent. The stronger occupancy during evening and night screenings indicates that the film continued to attract audiences despite the steep Monday decline.

Drishyam 3 opened strongly on Friday with a collection of ₹62 crore, marking the biggest opening of Ajay Devgn’s career. The film followed that up with ₹53.50 crore on Saturday and ₹61 crore on Sunday, taking its opening weekend total to approximately ₹176.50 crore net in India. The strong opening placed Drishyam 3 among the biggest Hindi film openers, with the film surpassing the opening-day figures of several major blockbusters.

Apart from its box-office performance, Drishyam 3 has also received praise from audiences for its writing and conclusion to the popular franchise. Fans have particularly appreciated the way the story brings Vijay Salgaonkar’s journey to a conclusion, with many calling the third instalment a fitting ending to the franchise.

Drishyam 3 brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant. The film also introduces Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj in prominent roles. The third instalment is directed by Abhishek Pathak. With the film already crossing ₹300 crore worldwide, its performance during the upcoming weekdays will determine whether it can maintain its momentum and achieve an even bigger box-office milestone in the coming days.
