Key Points

Arjun Bijlani dismissed dating rumours with longtime friend Mouni Roy after a dinner video sparked online speculation. The actor criticised viral reports and urged media outlets to verify facts, stressing that their 15-year friendship should not be misrepresented as a romantic relationship.

Mumbai, July 7: Actor Arjun Bijlani has strongly dismissed rumours linking him romantically with longtime friend Mouni Roy after the pair were spotted leaving a dinner together, prompting widespread speculation on social media.

The actor criticised a paparazzi page for using a suggestive caption that, he said, turned a friendship spanning more than 15 years into a gossip headline. Arjun urged media outlets and social media pages to verify facts before publishing stories that could mislead audiences and invade people's privacy.

Addressing the speculation on social media, Arjun emphasised that close friendships should not automatically be portrayed as romantic relationships. He followed up with another statement calling on media organisations to exercise greater responsibility in their reporting.

Arjun Bijlani Reacts to Mouni Roy Dating RumoursSeveral artists, including actress Krystle D'Souza, came out in support of Arjun and Mouni.

Arjun and Mouni have been close friends for over 15 years and have frequently spoken about their bond in interviews and on social media.

The duo became one of television's most popular on-screen pairs after starring as Ritik and Shivanya in Ektaa Kapoor's *Naagin* in 2015. While their on-screen chemistry won them a devoted fan following, both actors have consistently maintained that their relationship off-screen has always been one of close friendship.

Over the years, the Naagin Co-Stars have continued to support each other publicly through social media interactions and appearances at industry events.

In 2024, Mouni revisited their 'Naagin' days by sharing a throwback photograph from the show's sets. She had also previously revealed that while the two occasionally argued during filming, the disagreements stemmed from long working hours and demanding schedules rather than personal issues.

The dating rumours surfaced shortly after Mouni Roy confirmed her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar.

On May 14, the former couple issued a joint statement announcing their decision to part ways while requesting privacy as they navigated the separation.

Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar were married in Goa on January 27, 2022, in an intimate ceremony attended by family members and close friends. The wedding incorporated both Malayali and Bengali traditions.
