Mumbai, Jun 28: The entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden demise of actress and model Shefali Jariwala, who passed away late Friday night due to a cardiac arrest. She was 42.

Best known for her breakout performance in the early 2000s music video Kaanta Laga, Jariwala was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and close friends.

According to hospital sources, she was declared brought dead upon arrival.

Jariwala rose to fame at the age of 20 with Kaanta Laga, which became a cultural phenomenon. She later appeared in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and participated in reality shows including Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13, where she was praised for her strong and graceful presence.

Tributes have poured in from across the entertainment world. Singer Mika Singh expressed his grief, calling her “a beloved star and dearest friend,” while actress Divyanka Tripathi wrote, “Still can't process the news about Shefali. Gone too soon”.

Jariwala had previously opened up about her long battle with epilepsy, which she said had impacted her career choices. Despite health challenges, she remained a vibrant and inspiring figure in the industry.

She is survived by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and a grieving family. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem, and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.

Her untimely passing has left fans and colleagues stunned, with many remembering her as a symbol of resilience, charm, and unforgettable screen presence.
