New Delhi, Jan 31: India Post issued the notification for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026, announcing 28,740 vacancies across the country. The recruitment drive includes posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM).
Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
The highest number of vacancies has been announced for Maharashtra (3,553), followed by Uttar Pradesh (3,169) and West Bengal (2,982). Odisha has 1,191 vacancies.

Online registration will begin on January 31 and close on February 14. The last date for fee payment is February 16, up to 5pm. A correction window will be available from February 18 to 19.
Applicants must have passed Class 10 and be between 18 and 40 years of age. Selection will be based solely on Class 10 marks, with no written examination.
