Crime News / Woman Alleges Gang-Rape At Nandhini Guest House In Nimapada, Four Arrested

Puri, Sep 28: Four men were arrested after a woman alleged that she was gang-raped while working at Nandhini Guest House on Canal Road in Nimapada, Puri district.

Police have arrested two of the accused from the Pipili area and two others from the Nimapada area.

The woman, who is from Anugola district, had earlier approached Khandagiri Police Station and submitted a written complaint. As the alleged incidents took place in Nimapada, Khandagiri Police registered a Zero FIR and transferred it to Nimapada Police Station for formal registration.

Woman Had Joined Guest House On September 1
According to the FIR, the woman had previously been working at a guest house in Delta Square, Bhubaneswar, for about two months. The FIR states that one of the accused, Ramesh Chandra Das, was also working there as a cashier and allegedly motivated her to join Nandhini Guest House in Nimapada.

She joined Nandhini Guest House on September 1 this year, the FIR states.

Allegations Against Four Men
The woman alleged that Ramesh Chandra Das took Rs 15,400 from her. The FIR states that Ramesh Chandra Das had allegedly raped her by force on September 3 at around 1 am in Room No. 101.

She further alleged that another accused, identified as Raja, who was working as a cashier at Nandini Guest House, raped her by force on September 8 at around 2:35 pm in Room No. 102 and threatened her with dire consequences.

The woman also alleged that two other men, identified in the FIR as Sushanta and Akshya, raped her by force. She alleged that the four accused repeatedly sexually assaulted her while threatening her.

Case Registered In Nimapada
Following the transfer of the Zero FIR, Nimapada Police registered Case No. 298/2026 on September 26 under Sections 115(2), 3(5), 351(2), 64(1) and 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as mentioned in the FIR.
