Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: The YouTuber Rahul Maharana murder case in Bhubaneswar has taken a dramatic turn, with eyewitness accounts and family allegations pointing to a deeper conspiracy behind the crime.

The incident, which occurred late at night, has shocked the capital city and raised questions about law enforcement’s handling of the case.

According to Rahul’s three friends - Siba, Bablu, and Sachin - who were present during the incident, the altercation began over a broken liquor bottle on a cricket pitch. What started as a minor argument quickly escalated into a violent confrontation, ending with Rahul being fatally stabbed.

The friends recounted the sequence of events in front of cameras, describing how the situation spiralled out of control.

Rahul’s wife has alleged that her husband was deliberately targeted, claiming the murder was the result of a premeditated conspiracy. She accused another individual of being the mastermind, stating that Rahul had received threats prior to the incident.

She also questioned the police investigation, pointing out discrepancies between eyewitness accounts and official statements. While witnesses claim an army jawan stabbed Rahul, police have suggested that the son of an army officer was responsible. This contradiction has fuelled demands for a high-level probe.

Family members have further alleged that the murder stemmed from a long-standing feud. Six months earlier, Rahul had clashed with a car owner over parking outside his industrial gas shop in Palasuni. Both sides had filed complaints, and Rahul was even sent to court by Rasulgarh police. Though he was later released on bail, tensions reportedly continued. Relatives claim the rival, a businessman’s son, had threatened to kill Rahul and may have hired others to carry out the attack.

As investigations continue, questions remain about whether the murder was a spontaneous act of violence or the culmination of a calculated vendetta. Rahul’s family insists he had only one enemy, and they believe that enmity ultimately cost him his life.
