Kanpur, Sep 12: A shocking incident has surfaced from Maharajpur police station area in Kanpur district, where a 14‑year‑old boy was allegedly murdered after objecting to his mother’s illicit relationship with a neighbour.
According to police sources, the minor reportedly caught his mother and her lover in a compromising position on Thursday night. When he protested, the woman and her partner allegedly strangled him to death.
Disturbingly, the mother is said to have sat beside her son’s body throughout the night. The next morning, she told neighbours that the boy had died suddenly due to illness.

✨However, rumours of her affair and suspicions surrounding the death quickly spread in the village. Locals informed the police control room, prompting officers and a forensic team to visit the scene.
During inspection, injury marks were found on the boy’s neck and body, raising doubts about natural death. The body was sent for post‑mortem.
The autopsy confirmed strangulation as the cause of death, ruling out illness. The boy’s father works in Mumbai as a shuttering labourer, while the mother lived at home with her three sons.
Villagers claimed she had been in a long‑term relationship with the neighbour, which allegedly led to the crime when her son discovered them together.
Meanwhile, the accused lover reportedly attempted suicide by hanging himself out of fear of arrest. Family members and neighbours intervened in time, saving him, but he later fled the village.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law. The mother is being interrogated, while multiple teams have been deployed to trace the absconding accused.
