Crime in Odisha / Man Kills Newly Married Son in Bhadrak, Arrested

Bhadrak, Sept 9: Odisha Police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly killing his newly married son during a family dispute in Chunida village under Rural Police Station limits of Bhadrak district.
The accused, identified as Ravindra Sahu, was detained by villagers at the spot before being handed over to police.
According to the sources, Ravindra Sahu, his wife Mamata, and son Bikash Kumar Sahu had a history of quarrels. Police had earlier advised the father and son to live separately to avoid confrontation.
On Wednesday, Bikash reportedly approached his father to discuss a matter when Ravindra suddenly attacked him with a knife. Hearing his cries, Bikash’s wife rushed to intervene but sustained injuries in the scuffle.

✨Villagers immediately shifted the critically wounded Bikash
to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His
wife is undergoing treatment for her injuries. The incident triggered shock and
mourning at the medical facility, with relatives and locals gathering in large
numbers.

Police said Ravindra was taken into custody for interrogation, and a detailed investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fatal assault.
The tragic death of Bikash, barely months into his marriage, has cast a pall of gloom over the community. Police assured strict legal action against the accused.
