Actress Alleges Harassment After Rejecting Proposal
Speaking about the incident, the actress alleged that she faced harassment on the shooting set after rejecting his advances.

“The shooting was set in Phulnakhara. When I did not respond to his advances, he started harassing me on the shooting set. He would degrade me in front of everyone. When I complained about the constant harassment, nobody came to help me and finally I lodged a complaint with the police,” she said.

She further alleged that Upadhyay was later removed from the television serial after a senior artist also complained about his conduct.

"When police told him to appear in person, he did not come from Mumbai", the actress said.

Claims Calls, Threats And Stalking
The actress alleged that the harassment continued even after she blocked him on social media platforms.

“Following his termination from the project, he started calling me from 20-30 unknown numbers and hurled slangs at me. He even contacted my Instagram friends and planted fake stories about me,” she alleged.

She claimed that Upadhyay falsely told her friends that he had given her Rs 1 lakh, taken her to hotels and provided her with projects. According to the actress, he also allegedly threatened her family members and created a fake social media profile to contact and stalk her after she blocked him.

“He used AI and morphed obscene photographs depicting me with him. For this reason, I lost many projects. He even once came near my apartment and enquired about me,” she alleged.

Police Probe Into Digital Evidence
The actress subsequently approached Bhubaneswar Mahila Police Station, following which a case was registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, according to police.

Police are examining the alleged AI-generated and morphed images, call records, messages, social media activity and other digital evidence as part of the investigation.

The actress said she recently learnt that Upadhyay was conducting auditions at Hanspal. After she informed the police, Mahila Police Station personnel arrested him.

“I hope he gets stringent punishment. He is a threat to me and my family,” she said.
