✨The posts allegedly portrayed her as a sex worker, causing humiliation and distress. Saraswati further accused Manoj of issuing death threats through social media posts.
Unable to bear the harassment, Saraswati lodged a written complaint at the Cyber Police Station on June 8. Based on her statement, police registered a case and began investigating. Digital evidence, including social media posts and mobile phone data, was examined.
During the probe, police seized two mobile phones from Manoj, which contained incriminating material. He was arrested and produced in court on Saturday. His bail plea was rejected, and he was remanded to judicial custody.
Police confirmed that charges under stringent cybercrime
laws have been applied, which carry heavy fines and long prison terms for
circulating obscene or defamatory content online. Investigations are continuing
to uncover further evidence.
