Key Points
Family members of medical student Chandrika Hansda allege murder by her boyfriend and his other girlfriend, citing skin-shaming, missing diary, and suspicious fall from 42 feet into Kathajodi River.
Bhubaneswar, Jun 8: The mysterious death of Udala-based medical student Chandrika Hansda has taken a sensational turn with her family openly alleging that she was murdered and her body dumped in the Kathajodi River.
Family members have raised serious doubts over the circumstances of her death, claiming it was not a simple case of suicide.
Chandrika’s cousin Bhagwan Hansda, who resides in Bhubaneswar, broke his silence and questioned how she sustained injuries inconsistent with a 42-foot fall. “She did not have injuries that would result from such a height. There is clear suspicion,” he said.

✨In a major revelation to Argus News, Chandrika’s mother, Hiramani Hansda, made explosive allegations. She claimed that her daughter’s boyfriend often called her “not fair and not beautiful,” which deeply affected Chandrika.
To please him, the young woman was allegedly forced to take seven skin-whitening injections to become “fair.” Hiramani directly accused the boyfriend and his second girlfriend of jointly murdering Chandrika.
The case has grown more mysterious with each passing day. Chandrika’s body was recovered from the Kathajodi River near Trisulia Bridge in Cuttack.
Adding another layer to the mystery, Chandrika’s cousin Rasmita Hansda revealed that the deceased had been maintaining a personal diary since facing issues with her boyfriend. Both cousins had bought similar diaries, but Chandrika never showed hers to anyone. She carried the diary to Bhubaneswar before the incident. However, the diary is now missing — it was neither found at her home nor in the bag seized by police.
“Where has the diary gone?” Rashmita questioned, suggesting it might contain crucial details about Chandrika’s mental state and relationship troubles.
The family has lodged a complaint, and police have
registered a case. As investigations continue, the missing diary, alleged
skin-shaming, and claims of a second woman have intensified suspicions of foul
play in what was initially suspected to be a suicide.
