Violence / Family Dispute Turns Fatal in Dhenkanal as Man Kills Wife, Buries Body

Dhenkanal, Aug 29: A shocking incident has surfaced in Indupur village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station, where a domestic quarrel ended in tragedy. Police have arrested Girish Pradhan for allegedly murdering his wife, Kaisalya Pradhan, and burying her body behind their house.

According to reports, Girish demanded money from his wife to buy liquor. When Kaisalya refused, a heated argument broke out. In a fit of rage, Girish allegedly assaulted her, leading to her death. To conceal the crime, he dug a pit behind his house and buried her body.

The matter came to light after villagers alerted the police. A scientific team accompanied by Sadar police reached the spot, exhumed the body, and collected evidence. Girish was taken into custody and is being interrogated further.

Police sources said the couple had three sons and a young daughter. The mother’s death and the father’s arrest have left the children’s future uncertain, raising concerns among locals. Investigators are now probing the exact circumstances of the murder and the motive behind the violent act.
