Puri, Aug 13: Multiple bombs were hurled at the house and cold drink warehouse of a businessman in Gop Nua Sahi village under Brahmagiri police station limits in Odisha’s Puri district late Wednesday night, a source said.
The businessman has lodged an FIR with Brahmagiri police, alleging that the attack was linked to previous enmity. Police began an investigation into the incident.
Earlier Attack On Businessman’s Son
According to the complaint, some youths from the area had demanded money from the businessman during Holi. After he refused to pay, his son was attacked with a sword shortly after the festival.
The businessman subsequently lodged a complaint with Brahmagiri police. Police arrested one person in connection with the case and forwarded him to court.
The businessman alleged that the accused and their associates continued to threaten him after the earlier case.
Driver Attacked Before Bombing
The businessman had reportedly submitted another written complaint to the police on August 10, alleging threats from the accused.
On Wednesday, his driver, Bikan Pradhan, who was a witness in the earlier case, was allegedly attacked with a sword. A separate case was registered at Brahmagiri police station in connection with the incident.
Later that night, multiple bombs were allegedly hurled at the businessman’s residence and cold drink warehouse, the source added.
