Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: On a day when Holi brought joy to many, one family in Bhubaneswar was struck by tragedy. A domestic help was allegedly run over by her employer’s car, leading to her death. The incident occurred in Madhusudan Nagar.
According to police reports, the victim, a 64‑year‑old woman from Phulbani, was sweeping outside the house when her employer, Pradipta Kumar Das, allegedly drove his car at high speed and hit her. The impact proved fatal. Family members of the deceased lodged a complaint at Kharavel Nagar Police Station, accusing the house owner of deliberately running over the woman.
Following the complaint, police registered a case under
Sections 103/1 and 238(a) of the BNS and arrested Pradipta Kumar Das. Earlier,
he had been detained for questioning.

✨The victim’s body was sent to Capital Hospital for post‑mortem in the presence of her family members. Police have seized the vehicle involved in the incident and initiated a detailed investigation to determine whether the act was intentional or accidental.
