Bhadrak, Aug 31: The family of a married woman who died in Delhi has accused her husband of killing her, following the recovery of her body and its arrival in Odisha, a source said Monday.
The deceased was identified as Elina Tripathy, daughter of Rebatilata Tripathy from Basa Sahi under Bhattasahi panchayat in Bhadrak district.
The source said Elina married Sudhir Puhan of Sarasatia village in Ranital on March 8, 2026, following a relationship between the two.
Couple Worked And Lived In Delhi
After their marriage, Elina worked at a private medical facility in Delhi, while her husband was also employed there.
The deceased was identified as Elina Tripathy, daughter of Rebatilata Tripathy from Basa Sahi under Bhattasahi panchayat in Bhadrak district.

According to her family, Elina regularly called home after completing her duty to check on her ailing parents and two unmarried sisters.
Elina’s mother, Rebatilata Tripathy, said she last spoke to her daughter two days before her death.
According to Rebatilata, Sudhir called her the following morning and informed her that Elina had died by suicide. She said she asked him to send photographs of her daughter’s body, but he did not do so.
Mother Alleges Husband Killed Daughter
After the body was brought from Delhi, Rebatilata approached Bhadrak Rural police Station and sought action against her son-in-law, alleging that he had killed Elina.
“My daughter Elina and her husband used to live in Delhi. She worked at a hospital and her husband is an MBA graduate and was employed at a private firm. I last spoke to my daughter the previous night of her death. The next morning, her husband called me and said that she had committed suicide. I told him to send photographs of the body, but he did not. The post-mortem examination of my daughter’s body was conducted in Delhi,” Rabatilata said.
“We have come to the police station to file an FIR against Sudhir. He has killed my daughter,” she alleged.

“My daughter was the backbone of our family. My husband and I are patients. I have three more unmarried daughters. Elina was the eldest one and she financially supported the family. How will we survive now? We want justice,” she said.
Bhadrak Rural police have contacted Delhi Police and sought information about the circumstances surrounding Elina’s death.
