Controversy / Baripada SI Faces Rape Allegation, Claims Conspiracy after Marriage

Key Points
A Baripada SI faces rape allegations from a woman he claims to have married. With marriage photos surfacing, the case raises questions of love, betrayal, and possible conspiracy.
Baripada, Aug 23: Baripada Town Police Station has been thrust into controversy after a young woman lodged a written complaint accusing Sub-Inspector (SI) Prabhat Kumar Nayak and six others of rape.
The police have registered the case and initiated an investigation. However, the matter has taken a dramatic turn with the emergence of marriage photographs and videos that appear to tell a different story.
According to SI Prabhat, he and the complainant, a woman from Puri district, first connected through social media. Their relationship reportedly blossomed into love and culminated in marriage on June 12 at a temple, following Hindu rituals.

Prabhat claims that relatives from both sides attended the ceremony, and he has produced photos and videos as evidence of the union. Despite this, just two months later, the woman filed a serious complaint alleging sexual assault.

✨Prabhat has strongly denied the allegations, asserting that the case is a deliberate attempt to frame him. He argues that the dispute stems from marital discord and describes the situation as a mix of “love, sex, and betrayal.”
His lawyer has also dismissed the charges as baseless, suggesting that external pressure or conspiracy may have led to the filing of the case.
The conflicting narratives have left the public questioning the truth. If the marriage did indeed take place, why has the woman now accused her husband of rape? Conversely, if her allegations are genuine, how do the marriage photos fit into the story?
The case has sparked widespread debate, with citizens demanding a fair and impartial investigation, especially since the accused is a serving police officer.
The outcome will depend on the evidence gathered and the
transparency of the police investigation, which is under close public scrutiny.
