Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: In a welcome move, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Wednesday, has announced a one-day extension of the Historic Baliyatra Cuttack 2025.
Originally scheduled to conclude on November 12, the fair will now continue until November 13, allowing visitors and vendors an extra day to enjoy the festivities.
The decision comes in response to overwhelming public
enthusiasm and the thriving business activity witnessed at the fairgrounds. Baliyatra,
one of the largest open-air fairs in Asia, commemorates Odisha’s ancient
maritime legacy and draws lakhs of visitors each year to the banks of the
Mahanadi River in Cuttack.

✨CM Majhi stated that the extension was made keeping in mind the strong public interest and the commercial momentum of participating traders. The fair has seen record footfall this year, with cultural programmes, food stalls, handicrafts, and exhibitions attracting people from across the state and beyond.
Security arrangements and logistical support will remain in place for the extended day, ensuring smooth operations and visitor safety.
