Cuttack, Nov 1: Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab has extended heartfelt wishes for the upcoming ‘Historic Baliyatra Cuttack 2025’, set to begin on November 5, coinciding with Kartik Purnima.
Speaking about the cultural significance of the event, Mahtab said, “Baliyatra is not just famous in Odisha but is celebrated and discussed across India and even abroad.”
Inviting families to enjoy the festivities, the Cuttack MP emphasized the grandeur and legacy of Baliyatra, calling it a “well-organized and celebrated journey.” He praised the efforts of the district administration, the state government, and the people of Cuttack for preserving and promoting this iconic fair.
This year, Indonesia will be featured as the partner nation,
highlighting its historical maritime trade ties with India. The BJP leader noted
that Indonesia, along with Malaysia and Singapore, has long been a key player
in Indian Ocean trade, and its participation will add a global dimension to the
festival.

Bhartruhari Mahtab also hinted at future collaborations with Southeast Asian countries, stating that representatives from the region may attend and participate in the event. Last year, Baliyatra welcomed ambassadors from various nations, and this year promises similar international engagement.
The eight-day festival will run until November 12 and will be held across both the upper and lower Baliyatra grounds, covering a sprawling 60-acre area. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of traditional dance performances, diverse food stalls, and handcrafted goods that showcase Odisha’s rich heritage.
