Washington, Apr 18: Prince Harry has officially declared the United States as his primary residence, marking a significant step in his separation from the British royal family.

According to documents obtained by Page Six, the Duke of Sussex listed the US as his "new country/state usually resident," a notable change from his previous ties to the UK.

The paperwork, filed by Companies House for Harry's eco-travel venture, Travalyst, indicates that this residency shift occurred on June 29, 2023, following Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from their UK home, Frogmore Cottage, the day prior.

This legal move comes amidst ongoing discussions about the couple's status within the royal family and their future plans.

While the impact of renouncing his British residency on Harry's royal titles remains uncertain, there's speculation that he may address this issue during an upcoming visit to London, as per Page Six.

Despite this change, Harry has expressed conflicting sentiments about his connection to the UK, acknowledging it as his "home" but citing safety concerns that prompted their move to the US.

In December 2023, Harry emphasized the importance of his children's heritage and safety while on UK soil, despite their current residence in the US.

However, the prince has also shown interest in obtaining American citizenship, although he views it as a secondary priority at present.

Yet, Harry's past admissions of drug use, detailed in his memoir 'Spare,' raise questions about the ease of his immigration process.

While some legal experts suggest minimal impact unless he faces further legal issues, concerns linger regarding potential repercussions, including the need to renounce his royal titles to fulfil US citizenship requirements, as per a report by Page Six.

IPL 2024: Hyderabad wish to play an aggressive brand of cricket, says SRH's Simon Helmot

Hyderabad, May 02: Ahead of his side's clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) assistant coach Simon Helmot said that they want to play an aggressive brand of cricket in the upcoming days in the tournament.

After winning five of nine games in the IPL 2024, SRH are standing in fifth place with 10 points and have a net run rate of +0.075. The upcoming fixture against the Royals will be crucial for the Hyderabad-based franchise since they have lost their two previous games.

While speaking at the pre-match press conference, Helmot accepted that every franchise is trying to be aggressive in the tournament. He added that the last two games "have not worked" for them.

"Our single-mindedness is that we wish to play an aggressive brand of cricket, and I think that is what all teams are doing, looking to play an aggressive brand of cricket. It has worked for us on a number of occasions to help us with five victories. Obviously, the last one or two games have not worked so well," Helmot said.

The assistant coach added that if they continue to back their abilities they wil be in a good position to win their upcoming game against Rajasthan.

"We know that if we play a positive brand of cricket, that we keep backing our abilities and look to make the best, you know, decisions possible, you know, in every given ball, that we are going to be in a good position to win this game," he added.

He showered praise on Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals and said they have a balanced squad and have good spinners in the squad.

"Rajasthan has been on top of the ladder for a reason. They've got a good balanced side, they've got some very good spinners in their team, but we think we've got some very good players who spin too," he added.

LS polls: PM Modi to campaign in Gujarat today

New Delhi, May 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address one public meeting each in Gujarat's Anand, Surendranagar, Junagadh and Jamnagar on Thursday.

Prime Minister Modi will address a public meeting in Anand at 11 a.m., followed by another one in Surendranagar at 1 p.m., third one in Junagadh at 3:15 p.m. and later a fourth public meeting in Jamnagar at 5:15 p.m.

Home Minister Amit Shah will address three public meetings in Uttar Pradesh -- one in Bareilly at the Ramlila Maidan (12:30 p.m.), another in Badaun at the Islamia Inter College Ground (2:15 p.m.) followed by one in Sitapur at Leherpur (4 p.m.).

Major political developments that will unfold across the country today:

*BJP National President J.P. Nadda will address three public meetings in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

*BJP National President Nadda will address two public meetings in Bihar -- one in Araria at the Dharmaganj Mela Maidan (11:25 a.m.) and another in Muzaffarpur at the Kerma Stadium (1:40 p.m.). Later, he will address a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district at the Naya Bus Stand, Sironj (5 p.m.) and then another public meeting in Gujarat's Mehsana district at the Open Maidan, Godhra Road (at 8:45 p.m.)

Boating on Ganga river in Varanasi prohibited after 8:30 p.m.

Varanasi, May 2: Boating on the Ganga river in Varanasi has been prohibited after 8:30 p.m., officials said.

The decision has been taken keeping in view the safety of the tourists, said Water Police In-charge Mithilesh Yadav.

According to the Water Police In-charge, drowning incidents increased in May and June.

For the safety of tourists and visitors, security has been increased in the Ganga by Jal Police and arrangements have been made to increase vigil on weekends.

Yadav added that four teams, including two of NDRF and two of Water Police on two boats, have been deployed to keep a vigil on the Ganga.

In addition, a boat crew, and three security personnel have been deployed.

Yadav said that the decision to restrict the operation of the boats after 8:30 p.m. has been taken with the consent of the boatmen community.

If any boat is found operating after 8:30 p.m., the boat will be seized and an FIR will be registered against the boatman. Also, action will be taken to cancel the license of the boat.
