Mumbai, May 1: Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher shared a picture posing with Jr NTR, and heaped praise on the star saying that he “loved” his work in 'RRR'.

Anupam, on Wednesday, morning took to X where he shared a picture. In the image, the two stars are seen posing for the camera in a restaurant.

For the caption, Anupam wrote: “It was such a pleasure to meet one of my favourite persons and actor @tarak9999 last night. Have loved his work. May he keep rising from strength to strength! Jai Ho! #Actors.”

Anupam is currently busy with his second directorial 'Tanvi The Great'. It marks his return to the director’s chair after 22 years. His first film as a filmmaker was 'Om Jai Jadish', revolving around three brothers played by Fardeen Khan, Anil Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan.

On the other hand, Jr NTR is busy prepping for 'War 2' starring Hrithik Roshan. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji. 'War 2' is a sequel to the 2019 film 'War' featuring Hrithik, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor.

He also has 'Devara: Part 1', a pan-India film, which also has Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film is slated to release on October 10.

One dead, several injured after Singapore Airlines flight makes emergency landing in Bangkok

Singapore, May 21: One person died, and several are reportedly injured after a Singapore Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Bangkok due to severe turbulence on Tuesday.

The Singapore Airlines Boeing flight was operating from London's Heathrow Airport to Singapore on May 20.

"Singapore Airlines flight SQ321, operating from London (Heathrow) to Singapore on 20 May 2024, encountered severe turbulence en route. The aircraft diverted to Bangkok and landed at 1545hrs local time on 21 May 2024," Singapore Airlines wrote in a post on X, announcing the tragic incident.

The airline confirmed that there were injuries onboard, and stated that all "possible assistance" will be provided to the passengers on the aircraft.

"We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER. Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased," the airline said.

"Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew on board the aircraft," it added.

No further information has surfaced as of now. More details to follow.

Elections 2024: 'Ramayan' Fame Arun Govil To Campaign In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 21: BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Meerut and 'Ramayan' fame Arun Govil will arrive in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to campaign for saffron party candidates for the ongoing elections to Lok Sabha and State Assembly in Odisha.

According to party sources, Arun Govil is scheduled to attend a series of public meetings in different parts of Odisha on May 22.

"Veteran actor and our senior leader Arun Govil will hold election campaigns in Champua, Telkoi, Dhenkanal and Jaydev in Bhubaneswar tomorrow," said BJP State vice president Golak Mohapatra.

Arun Govil played Lord Ram in the iconic Ramayan TV show, created, written and directed by Ramanand Sagar, and telecast in 1987 on the public TV channel DD National.

The assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha are being held across four phases--from May 13 to June 1.

Polling for the first phase was conducted in 28 Assembly seats and four Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13, while the voting for five Lok Sabha constituencies and 35 Assembly segments for the second phase of polls was held on May 20.

The remaining phases of the polls will be held on May 25 and June 1. The results will be out on June 4.

Sensex Closes On Flat Note, Nifty Holds 22,500 Level

Mumbai, May 21: Indian equity benchmarks closed on a flat note on Tuesday following sideways trading in the market.
At closing, Sensex was down 52 points or 0.07 per cent, at 73,953 points and Nifty was up 27 points or 0.12 per cent, at 22,529 points.

In Tuesday's session, Midcap stocks outperformed smallcap and largecap stocks. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was up 199 points or 0.38 per cent, at 52,068 points, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down 69 points or 0.41 per cent, at 16,939 points.

Among the sector indices, Auto, PSU Bank, Pharma, Metal, Media, and Energy were major gainers. IT, Fin service, FMCG, Realty, Private Bank, and Consumption were major losers.

Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Power Grid, Tech Mahindra and NTPC were top gainers. Nestle, Maruti Suzuki, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and HUL were the top losers.

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst, LKP Securities said, "The index remained within the range of 22,400 and 22,600. Strong put writing at 22,400 and 22,500 might provide support to the Nifty. On the higher end, a decisive move above 22,600 might induce a rally towards 22,800 in the near term."
