Pregnant Woman Given Doses Of Expired Medicine In Jajpur

Jajpur, Oct 6: In what can be termed as sheer negligence, a pregnant woman was given expired medicines by an ASHA Worker at Lenka Sahi under Binjarpur block in Jajpur district. The incident has triggered a protest. 

The family members of the pregnant woman have lodged a written complaint at the Binjharpur police station. 

According to the information, Subhadra Satpathy having six months' pregnancy approached a local ASHA Worker for medical support. The ASHA Worker reportedly gave some medicines, that expired two months back. 

Suspicion arose as some medicines were found broken into pieces inside the cover. When checked, the expiry date was seen to have passed two months back. 

Soon, Subhadra's husband Krusnachandra Nathsharma rushed to the police station and filed a complaint.
