Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: In a major decision, the Mohan Majhi Government has issued a resolution announcing to repair the Hirakud Dam and canals at a total cost of Rs 855 crore. 

The work will be completed in four years. 

Dam irrigation canal, Bargarh main canal, Sasan main canal and other distributary canals are in a dilapidated condition for many years. They need to be repaired and renovated. Siphon, HR, CRAB, VRB etc. will also be done.

The foundation galleries on the south and left spillways will be repaired and the south abutment will be fully integrated with the Hirakud dam.
