Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Three separate road accidents were reported from Khordha, Kendrapada and Mayurbhanj districts, leaving at least one person dead and several others injured. The incidents involved a car-motorcycle collision in Khordha, a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Kendrapada and a truck plunging into a gorge in Mayurbhanj.
Car-Bike Collision Injures Three
A head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle left a youth and two college students injured near Rameswar Chhak on New Jagannath Road under Nirakarpur police station limits in Khordha district.
According to reports, the three were travelling towards Nirakarpur from Rameswar Chhak on a motorcycle. When they reached near a liquor shop at Rameswar Chhak, their motorcycle collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction.
All three motorcycle riders sustained injuries. Local residents rescued them and shifted them to a medical facility for treatment.

Nirakarpur police reached the spot after being informed about the accident and seized both the car and the motorcycle.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the collision.
Teen Killed, Two Injured In Bike Crash
A 17-year-old boy was killed and two others were seriously injured after two motorcycles collided head-on near BNNR Public School on the Ali-Bhuinpur road in Kendrapada district.
The deceased was identified as Rakesh Mallick, 17, from Endol village.
According to a source, Rakesh and his friend Soumyaranjan Dhal, both from Endol village, were travelling towards Ali market when their motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle being ridden by Balaram Pani from Jaraka, who was travelling from Ali towards Bhuinpur.
Following the collision, Rakesh and Soumyaranjan fell into water in a nearby field.
Fire Services personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured before taking them to Ali hospital. Doctors there declared Rakesh dead.As the condition of the other two injured persons was critical, they were referred to the district headquarters hospital for further treatment.

Truck Plunges Into Gorge
A truck carrying paddy plunged nearly 40 feet into a gorge at Godabhanga Ghat on State Highway 53 under Mahuldiha police station limits in Mayurbhanj district after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
According to the source, the truck was travelling from Thakurmunda towards West Bengal on the early hours of Monday when the driver lost control while negotiating the ghat. The vehicle subsequently fell around 40 feet down the slope.
The driver became trapped in the steering section of the vehicle following the accident.Fire Services personnel from Thakurmunda and Anandapur reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The driver was rescued after nearly three hours.
