Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence Thursday, marking the beginning of 29 working days that will continue until December 31. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to be in attendance to deliver her address to the House.
President Murmu will reportedly be landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 2 PM and she will proceed to Raj Bhavan. Later in the afternoon, she is scheduled to inaugurate the newly built Kalinga Guest House at Raj Bhavan premises at 4 PM.
By 4:20 PM, she will reach the Assembly and address the
members from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Following her speech, she is scheduled to spend
time at Room No. 11 inside the Assembly premises.

The Assembly session is expected to witness intense debates and discussions. On Wednesday, the BJP legislative party held a meeting to chalk out its strategy. The party announced that it would highlight the government’s achievements and popularity over the past 16 months, while also preparing to counter the opposition’s questions.
The BJP further stated that the first supplementary budget will be presented on November 28 by the Finance Minister and the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The Business Advisory Committee will decide the duration of discussions on various bills during the session.
With crucial legislative business lined up, including
budgetary discussions and bill deliberations, the winter session promises to be
politically charged. The President’s address will set the tone for the
proceedings, emphasizing the importance of democratic dialogue and governance.
