Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: The Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to begin its winter session tomorrow, which will continue until December 31.

Ahead of the session, the BJP leaders convened a meeting this evening. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, State President Manmohan Samal, General Secretary (Organization) Manas Kumar Mahanty, along with ministers and MLAs, participated in detailed discussions on strategy. Dr. Mahaling stated that the party is prepared to respond to all issues raised by the opposition during the session.

Historic First: President Murmu to Address Odisha Assembly Tomorrow

On the opening day, President Droupadi Murmu will address the House for the first time, marking a historic moment as she returns to the Assembly where she once served as a legislator and Minister. President Murmu’s address is expected to be a landmark occasion.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling noted that the President’s presence will be deeply symbolic, as she had earlier served as both MLA and minister in the Assembly. She is scheduled to interact with former and current legislators during her visit.

Government Achievements and Budget

Dr. Mahaling emphasized that the BJP government will present all achievements of its 16-month tenure before the people. He added that the government is ready to counter opposition queries with facts and clarity. The first supplementary budget will be presented in the Assembly on November 28, with financial matters expected to dominate early proceedings.
