Cuttack, Dec 5: Heavy crowding was witnessed outside the ticket counters of Barabati Stadium on Friday morning as fans from across Odisha and neighbouring states flocked to purchase tickets for the India–South Africa T20I scheduled on December 9. Thousands queued up well before dawn, prompting the Commissionerate Police to regulate the crowds and guide spectators through barricaded lanes.
Police said they repeatedly advised fans from 6 AM onwards to enter only through designated pathways, but many spectators were reluctant, leading to significant congestion outside the counters. Additional personnel were deployed to ensure orderly movement and prevent overcrowding at the entry points.
