Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: In a major decision taken at the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting chaired by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, the number of ICU beds at Capital Hospital will be increased from 16 to 40.
This move aims to address long-standing issues at the hospital and provide patients with more advanced healthcare facilities.
During the meeting, the MP held detailed discussions with hospital authorities to ensure the expansion is implemented at the earliest.
The meeting also decided to expedite the recruitment of faculty members to support postgraduate medical courses already underway at the hospital. Additionally, a significant decision was taken to regularize nearly 150 fourth-grade employees who have been working on a contractual basis for several years.

Apart from Aparajita Sarangi, the meeting was attended by Capital Hospital Director, Medical Superintendent, Bhubaneswar MLA, Mayor, RKS committee members, and senior officials from the Works and WATCO departments. The discussions emphasised improving patient care and strengthening healthcare services at Capital Hospital.
