Mumbai, Oct 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Monday highlighted the state’s rich maritime heritage and its ambitious future in the
blue economy during his visit to the Odisha Pavilion at India Maritime Week
2025.

In a post on X, CM Majhi praised the pavilion’s display,
which traced Odisha’s journey from ancient seafaring to modern port-led
development.

✨The Chief Minister emphasized Odisha’s strategic location
and progressive port policy, noting the state’s transformation into a key
player in India’s eastern maritime corridor. The pavilion showcased Odisha’s
historical trade routes, modern port infrastructure, and investment
opportunities in shipbuilding and coastal logistics.

India Maritime Week 2025, inaugurated by Union Home Minister
Amit Shah, is being held at the NESCO Grounds in Mumbai from October 27 to 31.
With participation from over 100 countries and 100,000 delegates, the event is
themed “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision” and aims to position India as a
global maritime hub.

Sonowal said India’s goal to become one of the top five shipbuilding nations by
2047, with over 600 MoUs expected to be signed during the week.
India Maritime Week 2025 is set to unlock Rs10 lakh crore in
investment commitments, with Odisha poised to benefit significantly from this
maritime momentum.
